Following in his father's footsteps as a steel fabricator, Robert “Bobby” Ibarra created Ibarra Group LLC in 2010 in the Old Schwinn bicycle factory as a second-generation Mexican family company. After overcoming several initial challenges, such as a shortage of capital, employees and clients, Bobby has a clear vision about the future of his company. In 2023, the Ibarra Group purchased a 18,000 sqft building in the heart of Little Village. "I want to be 100% established in our community.”

Bobby is highly involved in advocating for Latino businesses being a part of developing the communities they are established in instead of the work being outsourced to outside companies. “These are our communities, we should be the ones building them.”
